KU researchers’ project to tackle covid-19 effects wins funding from the research council of lithuania
Dr. Rasa Viederytė, researcher of Klaipėda University (KU), was among 29 national experts whose projects aimed at tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects will be funded by the Research Council of Lithuania.
The project Assessment of the Effectiveness of COVID-19-Related Restrictions on Economic Activity and the Impact of State Intervention Measures on Enterprises in the Klaipėda Region will be implemented by 11 KU researchers. They will focus on the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on Klaipėda Region companies and their employees and on state interventions aimed at mitigating the negative economic effects. The project objective is to provide recommendations on how to mitigate the negative economic effects caused by the state-imposed restrictions.
A detailed assessment of the effectiveness of the restrictions imposed on economic activity and state interventions aimed at mitigating the negative economic effects will be performed at the level of the Klaipėda Region (covering the municipalities of Klaipėda City, Klaipėda District, Palanga City, Neringa, Kretinga District, Skuodas District, and Šilutė District).
