AUA at the Aquaculture Congress 2022 in Athens
Agricultural University of Athens participated at the 2nd Aquaculture Congress “Challenges and Perspectives for Blue — Green Aquaculture” in Athens 15-16 April. The event was organized by AMBIO SA with the support of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization — HAPO.
The conference aimed to highlight the dynamics of the sector taking into consideration the recent developments according to the EU guidelines on aquaculture and the Green Deal. It focused on recent developments in research and innovation towards sustainable aquaculture, and underlined the need for national and international cooperation.
Prof. Eleni Miliou presented the “European Strategy for Universities: the role of stakeholders in Aquaculture sector”, outlining the importance of European Universities alliances in strengthening the European dimension of higher education, research and innovation. In this context, the opportunities offered by EU-CONEXUS for synergies with industry and public authorities, were presented. These included Smart Solutions on Urban Coastal Sustainability and exchange of good practices for developing coastal areas. In total, more than 55 speakers participated, including researchers, senior EU and governmental officials, national and international stakeholders.
