EU-CONEXUS at the International Congress on Dialogue and Cooperation in the Black Sea and Balkan Regions
EU-CONEXUS was represented at the Congress taking place in Bucharest, Romania by Mrs. Lavinia Turcu, Communication and External Relations Coordinator from UTCB. Our alliance was presented during the Round Table on Academic Cooperation – The Role of Networks. Special case – European Universities Initiative. The roundtable was formed by members of other European Universities alliances, such as – CIVIS, EPICUR, UNITA, EELISA.
In her presentation, Mrs. Turcu talked about the EU-CONEXUS origins, mission, scope, plans for the future, and opportunities. At the end of the session the audience had the chance to address questions or to make comments about the relevance and future of university alliances, and the chair, Mr. Luciano Saso, President of UNICA, asked the representatives of the European Alliances several questions regarding the challenges they encountered, academically and financially, and how they manage to keep students engaged.
The event addresses important issues regarding collaboration in the Black Sea and Balkan Regions and creates the necessary platform for debates on common strategies and tools aimed at developing higher education based on principles and healthy values, giving universities and authorities a central role in tackling current challenges facing our communities and in identifying the much needed practical solutions.
