Great impressions from The international scientific and professional conference
Organised by the Department of Pedagogy and the “Stjepan Matičević” Centre of the University of Zadar and with the co-organisation of EU-CONEXUS and partner institutions, the University of Klaipėda (Lithuania), the Catholic University of Valencia (Spain), Frederick University (Cyprus), the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnow (Poland), the Agency for Education and the Agency for Vocational training and Education successfully held the international scientific and professional conference What kind of education do we want? The conference presented scientific and professional works in the field of upbringing, education and contemporary pedagogy, as well as plenary lectures by guest lecturers and the Rector of the University of Zadar, Prof. dr. sc. Dijana Vican (un)equilibrium of socio-cultural values and upbringing and education. The second day of the conference included lectures, work presentations, and workshops, followed by a conference banquet and an expertly guided visit to the Museum of Ancient Glass. The third day of the Conference was devoted to socializing and a guided tour of the old town of Zadar, which included a visit to the Gold and Silver of Zadar – Permanent Exhibition of Religious Art. The conference was attended by numerous domestic and foreign speakers and more than 200 participants from all over Europe.
Through a constructive discussion in 7 plenary lectures, 9 working sections, 70 presentations of scientific and professional contributions, 8 workshops, panel discussions with students and several posters, we stimulated reflection on the cornerstone of the educational system, on education as the most important foundation of the value system of knowledge and responsibility, and thus as the initiator of any change for the better.
In an effort to provide an answer to the question “What kind of education do we want?” by combining scientific starting points and practical considerations, we have widened the path to push the existing boundaries.
Any change starts from a system made up of people. Let us be initiators of change together, with the goal of mutual responsibility.
The results of the conference in all planned forms of work will be presented in detailed reports, which will be published in a scientific and professional monograph.
A memorable event for all participants, especially for young colleagues. The conference proceedings to be published will certainly motivate them to further research and cooperation in the field of education.
