UTCB Representatives participate at the ‘Integration of sustainable development challenges in an urban project – approach and methods’ Roundtable in Bucharest
A delegation of UTCB representatives consisting of EU-CONEXUS Staff members and students participated at the Roundtable entitled ‘Integration of sustainable development challenges in an urban project – approach and methods’, an event organized by CCI Française en Roumanie, Ambassade de France en Roumanie, Institut Français Roumanie and Business France. Their participation, as part of our Alliance, and active engagement through the presentation held by UTCB researcher Dragos Gaitanaru (EU-CONEXUS Manager for the Coastal Engineering Institute) was highly regarded.
The opening speech was given by Julien MUNCH – President CCIFER and H.E. Laurence AUER – Ambassador of France in Romania.
The event tackled the integration of the challenges and particularities of cities and of the sustainable territories in an Eco-neighborhood planning project.
The key speakers addressed the following topics of interest for the audience:
- What are the stages for building an Eco – neighborhood?
- What expertise must be mobilized to create an Eco-neighbourhood?
- How is the management of different stakeholders ensured?
- How is impact measured and evaluated?
Presentations were held about the actions of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Services of the French Embassy in the field of ecological transition and the laureate projects within the Rencontres Européennes de Transylvania 2023 – Julien CHIAPPONE LUCCHESI – Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural action in Bucharest and Director of the French Institute in Romania.
The speakers invited represented institutions such as – Oradea City Hall, Nhood Romania (Pioneering company in urban regeneration), Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, Vice President of the Urban Community of Dunkerque (responsible for ecological transition and resilience), PSC Group, CEREMA Project Director (Centre for Studies and Expertise on Risks, the Environment, Mobility and Spatial Planning), General Directorate of Planning, Housing and Nature within the Ministry of Ecological Transition in France.
