EU-CONEXUS launches Innovation Contest for students and researchers
Up to 5,000€ await the winners of the 2024 EU-CONEXUS “Contest for Ideas”
Bringing people together, creating innovative ideas and finding solutions for challenges in the field of Smart Urban Costal Sustainability – this is the essence of the Innovation Contest “Contest for Ideas”. It invites Master students, PhD students and researchers to unlock the entrepreneurial mindset and present their innovative ideas to a high-profile jury.
This call also extends the common goal of the EU-CONEXUS Alliance, which is to foster multinational collaboration and innovation. The Innovation Contest actively encourages Master and PhD students and researchers who have ideas with start-up potential to take their chance and pitching the concepts on the “big screen”. Winners of the 2024 EU-CONEXUS “Contest for Ideas” will be granted a reward of up to 5,000€.
Ideas, and eventually proposals, for the innovation contest may cover any innovative field. Although the EU-CONEXUS Alliance encourages ideas with a reference to Smart Urban Costal Sustainability (SmUCS) related topics, there are no strict topic-related limitations.
The innovation contest has a two-step application process. The first step involves submitting project ideas. Afterwards, a variety of workshops will be offered to help students and researchers refine and develop their ideas into a proper project proposal. Following an evaluation round, selected teams will pitch their ideas to a high-profile jury during the EU-CONEXUS online pitch event in May 2024.
In addition to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, the Innovation Contest also aims to inspire students and researchers to create innovative ideas beyond borders, get together in multinational teams, and tackle the challenges of the regions represented by the Alliance. However, for this first call, individuals and national teams are also encouraged to apply. Participation is confidential.
Visit the Innovation Contest page for further details on how to apply! Deadline for project ideas: February 18, 2024.
