UTCB (Bucharest District 2) and Klaipeda City partner in a DivAirCity Project
The first of a five-part international online event series – From Vacant to Vibrant: Citizens Reclaiming Unused Urban Spaces With Nature – has just launched. It is part of the #DivAirCityProject, which is set to run from November 2024 to May 2025.
Each event will be led by a different city and feature a unique thematic focus relevant to the project and the chosen location. The first event will take place on Wednesday, November 27, starting at 2 PM GMT. To learn more and visit the event, register here.
This event series is organised in collaboration between UTCB – Bucharest District 2 and the City of Klaipeda. The first event will be led by the city of Aarhus in Denmark, setting the stage for inspiring discussions on how citizens can reclaim unused urban spaces and co-create nature-based solutions as powerful tools for mobilising communities.
During this event, experts and practitioners from Aarhus (Denmark), Vinnytsia (Ukraine), and Klaipeda (Lithuania) will present case studies showcasing real-life examples of urban transformation through nature-based solutions and community engagement. These presentations will offer practical strategies and insights that participants can take away and apply to challenges in their own cities. A Q&A session will follow, allowing participants to pose follow-up questions for the panellists and receive valuable guidance for addressing urban issues in their local contexts.
Overall, this series is designed to inspire and facilitate a collective movement towards greener, more inclusive urban spaces where communities play a central role in shaping their future.
