Urban Resilience: Building more resilient cities involves modifying urban infrastructure to withstand the impacts of natural hazards. This includes improving drainage infrastructure, constructing resilient buildings and creating natural barriers such as wetlands and mangroves.

Disaster Preparedness and Response: Coastal cities must invest in early warning systems, resilient infrastructure and evacuation plans to cope with natural disasters such as storms, floods, or tsunamis. Without adequate infrastructure, disasters can have a devastating impact on the local population and economy.

Access to Housing and Land: Unplanned urban growth in coastal areas can lead to the construction of informal or precarious settlements, which are more susceptible to natural disasters and lack adequate infrastructure.
