Student Research Hub

In the Student Research Hub (SRH), two-month research projects are designed to foster collaboration between:

  • Mentors (Academic and/or research staff Level R3 and R4)
  • Leaders (PhD students and Researchers Level R1 and R2), and
  • Undergraduate and post-graduate master students of EU-CONEXUS universities in the field of research.

SRH teams work together on specific research tasks in a dynamic setting (physical, remote, and/or blended). More specifically, if SRH is provided by the students‘ host university, on-site participation is expected, and in other cases attendance will be remote.

The primary focus of collaboration is to either contribute to ongoing research projects, or explore new research ideas. Overall, participants shall receive training in various aspects of research through a problem-solving procedure.

During each project, students will participate and assist in experimental procedures, perform data collection (on-site) and literature search, analyze and evaluate results, and take responsibility for project implementation.

Students may also have the opportunity to contribute to scientific publications and/or present their research findings orally in a conference.

This training is particularly beneficial to those embarking on both their undergraduate and master theses.

Under the guidance of Mentors and Leaders, participants gain expertise in advanced instrumentation, digital and green technologies, and qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Additionally, the program emphasizes the development of cognitive, non-cognitive, and job-specific skills to prepare students for a successful transition into the job market.

First and foremost, SRH is designed to combine the strengths of individual partners into joint training opportunities focused around Smart Urban Sustainability (SmUCs) topics.

Students will form a group to participate on-site in activities  provided by their host university and will participate remotely in SRH provided by universities other than the host.
